Simon Guettier
Simon retired in 2016 after a radio career spanning almost 40 years.
He began his career with the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) in Cyprus. It was at that time that he made his debut on national radio, on the fondly remembered 'Family Favourites' on BBC Radio Two.
His Sony Award winning show 'Simon & the Squad' became a daily listen for British troops in Iraq in the first Gulf War - it was simulcast on BFBS stations worldwide and on BBC Radio Five Live.
One of his favourite jobs was as breakfast presenter on Heart Brighton - "a wonderful station and, in summer, an unforgettable vibe in a fantastic town".
Simon also had short stints at LBC Radio, and BBC World Service.
Simon's best moment? "Probably interviewing Prime Minister John Major - inside No.10 Downing Street. That's some radio studio", grins Simon.
